Themes
For review purposes, abstracts are required to be categorised into different themes as follows:
- â Arrhythmias, Electrophysiology & Anticoagulation
This theme focuses on drug therapies for cardiac rhythm disorders, including antiarrhythmic medications and anticoagulants. It covers pharmacological management of various arrhythmias, drug-based approaches in electrophysiology, and anticoagulation strategies for arrhythmia-related complications. -
Cardiometabolic Health, Lifestyle Medicine & Preventive Cardiology
This domain addresses pharmacological interventions at the intersection of cardiovascular health and metabolic disorders. It includes drug therapies for obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and lipid management in the context of cardiovascular risk reduction and prevention. -
Cardiovascular Basic & Translational Science
This domain focuses on fundamental research in cardiovascular pharmacology and the translation of pharmacological discoveries into clinical applications. It includes studies on drug mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and early-phase clinical trials of novel cardiovascular medications. -
Coronary Artery Disease: Acute & Chronic Management
This theme covers pharmacological approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care of patients with coronary artery disease. It includes drug therapies for acute coronary syndromes and chronic conditions, focusing on antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, statins, beta-blockers, and other cardiovascular medications. -
Heart Failure, Structural Heart Disease & Pulmonary Vascular Disorders
This domain encompasses pharmacological management of heart failure, structural heart abnormalities, and pulmonary vascular diseases. It includes topics such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, beta-blockers, and novel drug therapies for these conditions. -
Special Populations & Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Care
This theme covers tailored pharmacological approaches for specific patient groups (e.g., elderly, pediatric) and the integration of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy with other medical specialties. It emphasizes personalized medication strategies and collaborative care models.
