APHRS Opening Ceremony 2022

The APHRS 2022 was attended by over 2000 attendees from 41 countries on the first day of the conference. The opening address was given by the organising chairman of 15th APHRS, Prof Ching Chi Keong. This was followed by speeches from the APHRS president, Prof Wataru Shimizu, Heart Rhythm Association of Singapore president, Dr Teo Wee Siong, and the Guest of Honour, Minister Tan See Leng.

Plenary Lecture

Professor Gregory Lip delivered his plenary lecture on the management of complex atrial fibrillation patients. A summary of this talk and its pertinent points can be found here.

Dr. Muhammad MUNAWAR (Indonesia)

  • One of the APHRS Founding Members
  • Served as the APHRS Country Representative of Indonesia from 2008 to 2018
  • Chaired the APHRS Public Affairs Subcommittee from 2009 to 2013

Datuk Dr. Razali OMAR (Malaysia)

  • One of the APHRS Founding Members
  • Served as the APHRS Country Representative of Malaysia from 2008 to 2011
  • Chaired the APHRS Fundraising Subcommittee in 2016

Prof. Hui-Nam PAK (Korea)

  • The current First Vice President of the APHRS
  • Chaired the APHRS Allied Professionals Subcommittee from 2016 to 2017
  • Served as the APHRS Scientific Program Chairperson in 2018; has been serving in the APHRS Executive Board since then until now

Prof. Wataru SHIMIZU (Japan)

  • The current President of the APHRS
  • Chaired the APHRS Basic Research Subcommittee from 2014 to 2018
  • Served as APHRS Treasurer from 2016 to 2017; has been serving in the APHRS Executive Board since then until now

Dr. Martin STILES (New Zealand)

  • The current chair of the APHRS International Scientific Document Writing Subcommittee (since 2017)
  • Chaired the APHRS Fellowship Subcommittee from 2014 to 2016
  • Served as the APHRS Country Representative of New Zealand from 2009 – 2014
  • Chaired the first APHRS-led Partnership Document “2020 APHRS/HRS expert consensus statement on the investigation of decedents with sudden unexplained death and patients with sudden cardiac arrest, and of their families”
