APSC CME WEBINAR SERIES
Atrial fibrillation-related strokes are preventable. The European Society of Cardiology recently updated the AF Guidelines in 2020, with highlight on a comprehensive approach in the management of AF, including comorbidities. Chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, and coronary artery disease (CAD) are common comorbidities in patients with AF. With the advent of Direct oral antagonists (DOACs), clinicians are now better equipped to manage AF patients with safer and more convenient treatment regimens to protect patients from stroke. Beyond stroke prevention, there are other clinical endpoints and chronic conditions that healthcare professionals need to consider in treating patients with AF.
