Helen Hayes is a nurse practitioner with over 25 years’ experience in the field of cardiac nursing. She has worked in the field of MCS for 20 years.

She first trained to become a registered in Ireland before emigrating to Australia in 1988 & pursuing her nursing career in Perth. Helen obtained her degree at Edith Cowan University following on with a Post Graduate Degree and finally completing her Masters in Nurse Practitioner through Curtin University in 2006. She has published papers in peer related journals in her field of expertise & regularly presents at National & International Conferences & forums on her chosen speciality.  She currently works in the State Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplant Service at Fiona Stanley Hospital. She is the only registered nurse practitioner in Australia responsible for managing the care of patients with heart failure being supported with mechanical heart pumps. Helen takes pride in making a difference in people's lives, is passionate about her role in caring for people and enjoys the challenges her chosen role gives her.Helen believes in the value of team work with trust being the foundation on which healthy personal & professional relationships are built & maintained.
